ELUCIDATION

These prices are indicative, including 21% VAT and excluding the all risk premium, which depends on the invoice value. They are subject to deviations in fuel prices, pandemic surcharges, and price changes by carriers. It is our customary service to provide you with an all risk insurance, unless you would prefer otherwise.

A surcharge may apply for remote areas. However, in most cases the price shown on the chart is exactly the price you will find on your invoice. Express deliveries are available upon request.

The prices in the overview are mainly derived from kilo prices. Shipping a 1.5 litre magnum therefore costs the same as shipping 2 bottles of 0.75 liter wine.

SHIPPING WINE AND TRANSIT TIME

We may use either FedEx or DHL as carrier to deliver your wines.  Door-to-door delivery via a carrier means delivery to your front door, except for deliveries to apartment buildings. Deliveries to appartments are made up to the entrance door of the building.

Once we have received your payment, we will send you a confirmation of receipt, package your wines and send track & trace data. The indicative delivery time is 4 - 5 working days after the booking of your shipment. Express deliveries are available upon request.

COLLECTING YOUR WINES

You may also arrange a carrier by your own choosing. We will gladly ensure that the wines are packed and ready for you on appointment.

Upon personal collection of your wines in Antwerp, we will accept a cash payment up to €3.000. We do not accept cash at delivery.

TERMS OF PAYMENT AND STORAGE FACILITIES

Payment is due 7 days after the auction, irrespective of the time of dispatch or collection. When payment is made within these 7 days, we offer free storage for your wines for up to 6 months.

SHIPMENT OF WOODEN CASES

We reserve the right to separate all wines and cases to ensure safe shipping. We do not ship wines in an Owc unless the wine is packed tightly in it.

In the case of banded Owc's and/or exclusive wines and/or in the case of special wines gift-wrapped, we understand that separating packaging and wine may result in a loss of value of the purchase. In such cases, we will contact you and offer three options.

You may:

  • personally collect your wine in Antwerp
  • temporarily store it with us or
  • permit us to send it in a pallet box

PACKAGING

Wines in closed cases can be sent carefree in pallet boxes. Sylvie's provides various sizes of pallet boxes and shipping on a foiled EPAL Euro pallet is also possible. All our pallets and pallet boxes comply with the ISPM standard.

Our pallet boxes are very suitable for shipping of closed and wooden cases. For small quatities we make use of multi layer carton or Styrofoam. Larger quantities are packed in a pallet box or Euro pallet.

When using a pallet box with an invoice value that is less than €2.000,00 shipping in a pallet box has a surcharge of €24.50. This price includes 21% non-deductible VAT.

COSTS OF ALL RISK INSURANCE

Invoice value Insurance premium excl. VAT
€1 - €4.000 0.6%
€4.001 - €27.500 € 27.50
> €27.500 0.1%

INSURANCE COVERAGE

An all-risk insurance is not obligatory. With all risk insurance your wine is insured against damage related to shipping; covering theft, breakage and loss. An all-risk insurance covers the damage up to the amount indicated on the invoice and never covers consequential loss, like the damage due to the collapse of a cork in a bottle and leakage. The damage from the taste of cork is not covered by the insurance policy.

When you omit the all-risk insurance, the carrier's CMR insurance will always apply, which offers a (low) kilogram price in case of damage. If you prefer to omit all-risk insurance, we ask you to confirm this in writing.

MAKING USE OF INSURANCE

Our selection of packaging and carriers minimizes the risk of any damage during shipment. If any damage to your wine has occurred, in spite of our endeavours to ensure safety, we will compensate you in accordance with your chosen insurance as soon as possible.

In order to be able to invoke insurance, we ask you to provide us with photos of the damage immediately, unless the nature of the damage is such that this is impossible (loss or theft). Photographs are to be sent to us within 3 days upon arrival, as insurance policy obliges. In the event of damage to the outside of the packaging that raises suspicion that any content may be damaged, we strongly advise you to refuse delivery.

SUMMER AND WINTER SHIPMENT

We will usually ship your wine immediately upon receipt of your payment. At expected temperatures en route are below 0 degrees or above 25 degrees Celsius, shipment is advised against as these temperatures are detrimental to quality. Instead, we provide free storage for your purchases until the temperature is wine-friendly again.

It is always possible to receive the wine if you send us your request in writing and accept all possible consequential loss.
